Israel’s military targets Palestinian police delivering aid to Gaza in ongoing conflict

The United States has urged Israel to cease its attacks on Palestinian police officers in Gaza. The Biden administration has specifically called for an end to the targeting of Palestinian law enforcement in the besieged Gaza Strip.

This call comes amidst reports of widespread destruction by the Israeli military, including the demolition of critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, roads, communication networks, and the water system, stretching from the northern to southern regions of Gaza.

This destruction has exacerbated the already dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with tens of thousands of people facing starvation and ongoing heavy fighting resulting in loss of life.

The deliberate targeting of all branches of the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Gaza by Israel raises questions about the future governance of the Gaza Strip.
